‘Rendezvous 2002’, an Investor Pitch Event, organized by IPTIF (IIT Palakad Technology iHub Foundation) & hosted by KGiSL Agile Incubator unearthed some exciting Deeptech Startups in the Kongu region. The event that was held at the KGiSL Campus at Saravanampatti in Coimbatore on 21st November was supported by By The Startups Business Community, YourCoimbatore News Portal, Startup Grind and KGiSL. While the auspicious kuthuvillaku was lit by Dr.Ashok Bakthavathsalam, Founder & Director of KG Information Systems Private Limited, the welcome speech was delivered by Senthikumar Rajappan (Founder – YourCoimbatore). Dr.Ashok enthralled the gathering mostly comprising early stage startups and studentpreneurs with his motivational talk.
The event’s Inauguration note was delivered by Sivaraghavi, the Director of the newly inaugurated KGiSL Agile Incubator. An introduction to the event ‘Startup Rendezvous’ by Harilal Bhaskar, CEO of IPTIF Palakad, and Presidential address by Jinisha, PR & Outreach Executive, set the tone for the event followed by a founder’s talk by Naveen Krishnamurthy, Founder of Ladder Minds, and VC talk by Mr. Sujai Pillai, Founder of 2tion.com. The panel of VCs also comprised Sriram Sankaran, Chairman and Managing Director of Synchron Group and Rajesh, a prominent entrepreneur and VC in the city.
The event saw 15 pitches made by Deeptech startups, with a few having their products ready to go to market, and others at different stages of startup growth. The IPTIF team, along with the investor panel, shortlisted a handful of startups for funding that would help them to scale up their startup operation. Studentpreneurs from different colleges including KGiSL were also able to make an impact with the investors through promising product ideas. The note of thanks was delivered by Shameer, Founder, By The Startups Community. Startups were also engaged in active networking and self-introduction of their business during the event.
