Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science (formerly SNR Sons College, an autonomous institution in Coimbatore has signed an MOU with By The Startups (BTS) Community, one of the most active business networking and startup communities based out of Coimbatore. The MOU was signed before Dr. BL Shivakumar, the principal, and Dr. D. Santhanakrishnan, Head – EDC (Entrepreneur Development Cell) of the institution.
The objective of the MOU between Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science and BTS Community is to strengthen the startup activities in the institution, fuel entrepreneurial passion among the students (at a time when placement opportunities are readily available), and conduct regular startup meets, events, expos and conclaves that will connect the entrepreneurs of the region with the EDC of the institution. Speaking on the MOU, Dr.Shivakumar said that the institution has an excellent infrastructure to generate job creators, especially in the areas of Food, Biotechnology and Tourism in the future.
He added that the MOU with the BTS Community would help enhance the ongoing efforts of the institution to create a pre-incubation centre inside the campus soon for sustained development efforts in the area of entrepreneurship. Also, present in the occasion was Vignesh, Founder of Payirgal, an agri-based startup.
