Halcyon Ventures, led by Senthilkumar Rajappan, conducted a 5-day placement training programme in aptitude skills for the pre-final year UG & PG students from different streams of Nirmala College for Women in Coimbatore last week. Attended by about 750 students, the aptitude skill-building programme that is part of the ongoing placement training module in the college helped job aspirants identify their strengths and weaknesses in specific analytical areas, with final-year students more likely to obtain a job and be successful in their chosen job, career, or company. Furthermore, it will enable employers to identify the top candidates for various roles, improving their hiring choices.
The training programme was coordinated by Shameer of Team Halycyon, and handled by a team of 16 trainers that helped students develop their quantitative, logical, and verbal abilities through interactive sessions, workouts, activities, daily tests, and assessments. In his third year of placement training at the college, Senthilkumar, the founder of Halcyon Ventures, said that the training programme in the last 3 years has had an appreciable impact on both the students as well as job recruiters who always hunt for the best talents to join their team. The training firm has also helped the institution onboard several companies, both enterprises and startups, and recruit students on campus successfully. Halcyon has been offering placement and skill development programmes, in addition to organizing recruitment drives in several institutions in Tamilnadu. The college’s placement officer Dr.Nithya has been instrumental in conceptualizing and addressing the pre-final year placement training requirements while planning the campus recruitment drive and job offers in the final year.
She said,” Our college principal Rev. Dr. Sr. Mary Fabiola has been relentlessly pushing the placement efforts to equip the pre-final year students with technical, analytical, and soft skills and prepare themselves for the future challenges looming at large. It is our principal’s vision that every student in her final year should get placed and secure a handsome package, and we are working towards improving our students’ future by attracting reputed companies to hire them with excellent entry-level packages and perks.” Pre-final year students who actively participated in the concluded training programme and assessments said that the entire exercise has been very encouraging and challenging. The college has also found support from its students lauding the placement cell’s efforts in helping them secure high-paying jobs in MNCs and local firms.
