Recently, SpaceBasic hosted a conference for education leaders & changemakers in Coimbatore – “The Digital Campus Beyond Classrooms Conference” in the industrial and entrepreneurial city of Coimbatore in Tamilnadu. The keynote speakers of the event include Amuel Myers, Vice-Consul (Education), Australian Consulate; Dr. S. M. Suresh, Ex- Director – All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) & Fmr. Registrar, IIT Guwahati; and Elanchezhiyan Ganesan, Head of Campus Infrastructure & Student Services at Manipal Global Academy of BFSI. A fireside chat session with Myers highlighted how Indian institutions are collaborating with universities in Australia. Dr. Suresh spoke at length about the various advantages and disadvantages of digital campus.
An elite lineup of speakers, including Dr. Karunakar, CEO- Hindustan Group of Institutes; Dr. T. Shivkumar, Principal – RVS Group of Institutes; Dr. S. A. Mohamed Ali, Principal – CMS Academy of Management and Technology; Dr.V.Radhika, Principal – Sankara College of Science & Commerce, participated in a panel discussion on the topic “Technology adoption by Educational Institutions in Tamil Nadu” which was moderated by Elanchezhiyan.
While Madhavi Shankar welcomed all the keynote speakers and panellists, Anamik Adhikary, the Director of Technology at SpaceBasic presented a case study on the implementation of SpaceBasic in one of the Indian universities. Earlier, Elanchezhiyan also delivered a case study with data insights on how the app was able to automate the hostel administration process at Manipal through automation of repetitive tasks, minimization of wastage and expensive errors, and simplification of the entire communication process for straightforward access & collaboration. The event, which was attended by the principals, educators, management and faculties of various colleges from in and around Coimbatore, ended with a dinner cum networking session with Team SpaceBasic and guests.
