Coimbatore-based KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), proverbial for its ability to foster innovation and entrepreneurial attributes in this region, has shown the way again: this time by hosting the event Synergy 2023 to bridge the gulf between the academia and corporate space.  Synergy 2023 also served as an interface between the academia and industry, wherein 4000+ students of the institution coalesce, and interacted directly with the corporate heads and executives representing 40+ companies from all over India including Reliance Industries Limited, Hexaware, ZOHO Corporation, OYO, Schneider Electric, ELGI Equipments, Philips, Bosch, Tata Technologies, Autodesk, Silicon Labs, etc. Startups including Kovai.co, Vuram Technology Solutions, Sprout Knowledge Solutions, Machdatum, and others participated in the day-long show bringing their expertise to the fore. In terms of learning, the event set the expectations of what the current industry demands, and helped participants develop the right skill sets by making them industry fit.

The event proved no short of engagement with exciting sessions including Fusion X, bringing students and faculty together to share ideas with one another; Town Hall, a first-of-a-kind session in South India, with over 50 students engaging in campus-to-corporate connect with the experts’ panel detailing today’s corporate expectations; and the institution’s SDG Action Pledge through display and implementation of UNSDG 2023 Goals.  As an added pull that brought forth the innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities of students, the Aviation Robotics Club displayed over 25 projects in different sectors including Healthcare, Drones, Automation, Electricals & Electronics, Agri, etc. While the project ideation role for the session was played by Dr. Navaneethakrishnan, Head – Centre for Innovation (KPRIET), Dr. Sreelatha, Associate Head, CIIED, and Prof. Sudhan, Dept. of Chemistry ensured the event is an ideal platform for startups to display their products in front of a capacity audience.

Talking about the event, Principal Prof. Akila Muthuramalingam said, “This event Synergy was ideated by our Chairman Dr.K.P.Ramasamy.  It has always been his vision to enable all the students of the institution to get industry-ready, and we all work hand in glove to achieve this remarkable transformation.”

“The event also proved a confluence for the exchange of ideas between the institution and industry. With our students pumped up to achieve their aspirations of getting hired by their dream company, the event has been extremely successful in attracting the future technical and managerial skill sets required by today’s workforce to stay afloat in the corporate world, and succeed in career growth and advancement”, she added.

The event’s sessions were conducted at different venues of the institution, and elaborate arrangements were made by KPRIET’s Career Advancement Cell.  Right, here’s the best part: no less than 4000 students dressed in black suits participated in the event in the characteristic corporate style.
