By The Startups Networking Community & Business Accelerator has been instrumental in sourcing investment for many early stage startups through startup fund raising and pitching events hosted by incubators, accelerators and startup networking communities all over Tamilnadu.
It has well-established ties with government funding agencies like StartupTN, EDII-TN, MSME, etc and has recommended community’s startups to pitch to Angel Investor and VC aggregator networks like TN-based Native Leads, Mumbai Angel Network, etc.
By The Startups Community recently hosted a startup funding pitch at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College’s SPARK Incubator. Six selected startups including Nanic Ayurveda, Jula Herbal Napkins, Dosa Infinity, Glamscrap Technologies Private Limited, BioSIM and Hyperhawk Technologies LLP (all three incubatees of SPARK) made a pitch with their financial ask before Coimbatore-based Angel investor Suresh who is into gold wholesale business and an active investor. The aforementioned startups are well into the revenue stage, and require funding for scaling their operation to the next level.
The funding process will extend into another round of one-on-one personal round of discussion with the Angel who was impressed with the startup pitch proposals. The funding results will be released soon in another post. Usually angel investors offer a lump sum of money in exchange for equity, before a startup attempts to prove itself in the market post-product-development.
The event was elaborately managed by Thirukkuralkani, manager at the SPARK Incubator. Dr.Sharmila of the Incubation team set the tone for the pitching session with a brief introduction of participating startups and SPARK incubation centre. Shameer, the founder of By The Startups community, and one of the mentors at SPARK coordinated the pitching session.
