Coimbatore,12-July,2026: Coimbatore-based Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) hosted its IInd Global Alumni Meet in Anaikatti, near Coimbatore. About 600 alumni from different streams and batches from various local and global chapters attended the event with great zeal. The event honored their accomplishments and strengthened connections with their alma mater through several programs and awards.
Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) successfully held its Second Global Alumni Meet at a private resort in the village of Anaikatti, near Coimbatore, attracting around 600 alumni from various graduating years and local and global chapters. This event provided an excellent opportunity for former students of the engineering institution, which was established in 1994 by Sevaratna R. Venkatesalu, to reconnect, commemorate their accomplishments, and reinforce their enduring bond with their alma mater.
Mrs.Veena Ramesh, the President of the SREC Alumni Association, delivered the welcome address for the event. Narendran, the Co-Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Trust, chaired the function and highlighted the remarkable growth and accomplishments of SREC in the areas of education, research, and industry connects throughout the years. He acknowledged the contributions made by the alumni in enhancing the college and supporting the students especially in the areas of scholarship,mentorship, training and placement.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of ‘Spotlight,’ an alumni magazine that covers the achievements, success stories, and treasured memories of SREC alumni who are making their mark worldwide.The magazine presented a variety of accomplishments and experiences from former students.
Subsequently, an Alumni Talk Session took place, featuring alumni from different graduating classes who recounted their career paths, college experiences, and offered motivational insights to current students. This session served as a source of valuable guidance and inspiration for the younger generation.
As another highlight of the event, the ‘Alumni Excellence Awards’ was presented to distinguished former students who have made remarkable contributions in the fields of Research and Development (R&D), education, collaboration with industry, entrepreneurship growth, student mentorship, and the overall advancement of the college. These awards celebrated the extraordinary commitment and service of alumni to their alma mater.
Professor Dr. V. Karpagam, who serves as the Head of the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, thereby bringing the successful global alumni meet to a close.
