Shaastra, the annual tech festival, organized by IIT Madras, and widely considered as the largest student-led technical fest of its kind in Asia, will be held on Jan 03, 2025, at the campus. The event is recognized as the first event globally to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification.
The one-day tech festival attracts an assorted crowd exceeding 100,000 individuals, comprising mainly students from numerous institutions, industry experts, and members of the general public. Throughout its history, it has hosted esteemed speakers including Dr. Kiran Bedi, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, and Dr. Nambi Narayanan, who have presented inspiring and thought-provoking keynote talks. The event throws a range of activities in engineering, science, and technology, including competitions, summits, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, and more.
The event is managed by Enreach, the newly established department at Shaastra, a student-led initiative dedicated to democratizing IT by closing the divide between non-tech individuals and the digital realm. The event, through its mentorship initiative, offers a well-structured and practical workshop that empowers startups and SMEs to build their tech capabilities, thereby accelerating their digital transformation process.
Participants can learn the fundamentals of evaluating digital maturity, identifying critical tech requirements, and selecting scalable tools pivotal for early-stage growth. They can leverage contemporary digital tools, optimize their current operations, and enhance their digital footprint. The case studies presented during the session will offer participants real-time use cases of how businesses have addressed challenges and developed scalable digital solutions through mentoring.
The session’s beginner-friendly guide offers participating organizations vital digital infrastructure, simple workflow automation, and the adoption of low-code/no-code solutions, helping them make informed decisions towards sustainable scalability.
